Technical Program/Product Managers at D. E. Shaw Research collaborate with our teams of engineers and scientists to coordinate projects, including the development of specialized supercomputers and proprietary software, aimed at achieving major scientific advances in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, and drug discovery. Our ANTON® supercomputers, which combine custom-designed hardware (including cutting-edge ASICs) and software, speed up molecular dynamics simulations by orders of magnitude and are designed in part to fundamentally transform the process of drug discovery. Successful hires will be responsible for helping define and deliver as well as for coordinating the day-to-day execution of a variety of scientific software tools. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that requires working closely with team leads and senior management on a variety of strategic, risk-mitigation, and infrastructure projects.
Ideal candidates will have a scientific background (preferably in chemistry, physics, or biology) and some programming experience (including familiarity with Python), a track record of coordinating complex technical projects and/or interdisciplinary teams, as well as excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
